A story of a love triangle gone completely wrong is playing out after the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said the murder of a National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) member in Abuja was a crime of passion.
The Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Sunday Babaji said three suspects murdered Stephanie Terangu in April to separate her from her lover, Edward Achadu.
Stephanie’s murder sparked outrage when her corpse was found still dressed in the NYSC uniform.
After a painstaking investigation, Mister Babaji said one of the suspects, Jennifer Tsembe was the mastermind of the twisted plot.
She had been romantically linked to Edward before they broke up and wanted to reunite with him.
The Commissioner of Police said the suspects originally planned to scare Stephanie away by abducting her from Jennifer’s house.
But Jennifer called one of the suspects hours later to tell him she had killed Stephanie in panic.
She reportedly paid him N100,000 to dispose of Stephanie’s body.
The suspects will be charged with murder, according to the police.
