President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the conferment of Special National Honours on 339 Nigerians including his Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President, Laolu Akande, will also be honored.
The two will be conferred with the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), as will the Permanent Secretary at State House, Tijjani Umar.
Other honorees include the president’s photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo; and the Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi; who will receive the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) honors.
A statement released Sunday night by the Presidential Director of Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye, notes that the honors are for their ‘diligent services to the nation.’
The personal photographer to the Vice President, Tolani Alli; and two NTA journalists, Adamu Sambo and Emmanuel Anrihi; will be honored with the Member of the Federal Republic (MFR).
The award recipients will collect their certificates and medals at the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs on Thursday 1 June.
