The United States president, Joseph Biden has emphasized the need to lower the temperature in politics following the attack on his Republican opponent Donald Trump.
In an address on Sunday night from the White House, Biden stated, "In America, we resolve our difference at the ballot box, not with bullets."
“The power to change America should always rest in the hands of the people, not in the hands of a would-be assassin,” the president said.
Biden stated that peaceful means, as opposed to violent means, should always be used to resolve conflicting campaign visions.
In addition, he urged Americans to remember they can disagree without being enemies.
