A UK Court has found Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy not guilty of one count of rape.
The French international, 28, was cleared of the rape of a 19-year-old woman at his home in Prestbury, Cheshire on July 24, 2021.
Louis Saha Matturie, 41, who was co-accused, was also found not guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault against the same woman.
Judge Stephen Everett of Chester Crown Court ordered the jury to clear the defendants of those counts after the prosecution offered no further evidence and formal not guilty counts were entered.
They remain on trial for alleged sexual offences which they both deny.
Mendy faces seven counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault against six young women.
The left-back hasn’t featured for Manchester City since May 2021.
