The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar will be welcoming the former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau to the party on Monday.
Mr. Atiku arrived in Kano on Sunday in preparation for the grand reception planned for Mr. Shekarau.
“I just touched down at the Centre of Commerce, Kano State. The next few days are set to be very productive," he posted on Facebook.
Mr. Shekarau is leaving the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for the PDP, after accusing the NNPP of reneging on an agreement to allow his supporters to occupy sensitive positions in the party.
He joined the NNPP in May amid fanfare and emerged as its candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial seat for the 2023 General Election.
