The North West zone of the National Association of Nigerian Student (NANS), has vowed to join other zones across the country to protest against the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The coordinator of NANS in the region, Comrade Ziya'u Sarki told Nigeria Info that consultations are underway with the other zones.
The association's national leaders are planning to first converge on Abuja Friday for an emergency meeting.
On Thursday, the National President of NANS, Sunday Asefon said the association was ready to hit the streets to protest against the ASUU strike.
In an interview with Channels Television, Mr. Asefon described the ongoing protest by university students in Benin City as "only a sign of the mother of protests to be expected by Nigerians in Abuja.”
