A governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State,Olawale Oluwo, says the former governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, is supporting him in his bid to unseat incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Oluwo, in a chat with Jimi Disu on Daily Digest, however, clarified that Ambode never pushed him to run for governor, rather, serving Lagos State has been an ambition of his for a long time.
"I made myself available to serve my state since January 2006, so he (Ambode) gave me the opportunity in 2015 as (Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources)."
Furthermore, he declared he was running to continue the works of the Ambode administration.
In addition, Oluwo said he is not worried by the unanimous endorsement of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), and Bola Tinubu, the party’s leader for the incumbent governor.
In the party primaries in May, Oluwo, who served as a commissioner under Former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, will attempt to beat Governor Sanwo-Olu for the APC governorship ticket.
