The death of gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu has generated a lot of controversies both online and offline.
When news of her death broke, it was alleged she died of throat cancer.
Her close friends have however come out to refute the claim and insist the ‘Ekwueme’ crooner died of violent abuse from her husband.
Some of the friends say she was advised to leave the marriage, but she remained.
Police have now arrested her husband, Peter Nwachukwu.
There are many comments about the circumstances of her death.
Her colleague, Frank Edwards alleged the late singer had an abusive husband who brutalised her regularly.

A former federal minister, Oby Ezekwesili condemned domestic abuse in her tweet own tweet.
‘’The death of Osinachi Nwachukwu of the epic Ekwueme worship song really hit hard. To read allegations of spousal abuse worsens the pain. I hope the truth is unearthed and justice given. Everyone, including churches, must take issues of Violence Against Women seriously. Urgently,’’ She wrote.

Her death has also brought up the debate about the role of the church in abusive marriages. Many pastors have been accused of aiding and encouraging women to remain in abusive marriages.

In an interview with Vanguard newspaper, an elder sister of the deceased insisted she died as a result of domestic violence from her husband.
