Ahmed Buhari, the vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), says the crisis bedevilling the party's leadership and the suspension of President Dumebi Kachikwu will not stop the party from contesting the 2023 election.

Ahmed Buhari stated this on Hard Facts while reacting to a question on the crisis in the ADC.

In his opinion, the crisis in the party is primarily caused by Ralph Nwosu, who has led the party for 17 years, refusing to follow the provisions of the party's constitution.

Buhari stated the former chairman refused to hold a convention to elect new officers but instead insisted on an extension of his term.

"For the former national chairman and his cohorts, for them, it's a question of how they can extend all of this to another election year and do what they are used to doing. We are not going to let that happen," he said.

ADC vice presidential candidate noted that all that is happening in the party is the result of "illegality fighting back."

Additionally, he confirmed that judging by the constitution of INEC, Dumebi Kachikwu, his principal, is fully in the race for the 2023 presidential election.
