Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced that corps members will receive an increased monthly allowance of N77,000, starting in February 2025.
Speaking to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State on Thursday, Ahmed confirmed that the increment has been factored into the 2025 Federal Government budget and will take effect once the budget is passed.
“This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is approved, by next month (February), you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the current N33,000,” he stated.
The NYSC DG reaffirmed the government’s commitment to corps members' welfare and security, urging them to serve with dedication in return. He also reassured corps members that they would not be posted to insecure areas, emphasizing, “Wherever we deploy them, they can be assured that it is a safe and secure environment for them to serve.”
