Government efforts to ensure that more Nigerians are metered is still suffering setbacks.

Recent data by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) reportedly confirmed that 62.67 percent of the electricity consumers in the country are still under the estimated billing system as of September 2021.

So why has it been difficult to move more Nigerians away from the estimated billing system? Executive Director, PowerUp Initiatives For Electricity Rights (PowerUp NG), Adetayo Adegbemle believes this is down to various issues.
