Gynaecologist, Dr Abayomi Ajayi says that menstrual pain that interferes with your normal chores is not normal and could be Endometriosis.
Dr Ajayi made this known on Hard Facts with Sandra Ezekwesili.
According to him, one in ten women between puberty and menopause suffer from Endometriosis, and "the majority of these patients are not diagnosed."
The reason for low diagnosis in Africa is that up until 25 years ago, Africans "believed Endometriosis was not a disease for blacks, and some doctors still adhere to this belief."
The medical practitioner also provided additional information about Endometriosis and why it should be taken seriously.
