The Police vs You: Nigerians Tell Their Stories

You are viewing content from Nigeria Info, Let's Talk! Lagos. Would you like to make this your preferred location?

Oga stop! Pull over! Heard those lines before, right?

It is not uncommon in these parts to get caught up in "police wahala" for reasons you can't even explain.

From the man who gets arrested on his way back from work, to the woman who found herself in the cell for taking a walk late at night, stories of unfortunate encounters with some men of the Nigeria Police Force have constantly made, and are still making the news.

On this edition of Sunny Side, show host Joyce Onyemuwa desired to know the different scenarios that led to unpleasant experiences for Nigerians at the hands of policemen.

"The Nigeria Police is supposed to be  place of refuge," said one caller.

He added, "If we can fix the Nigeria Police, Nigeria would be better."

However, all Police officers couldn't be bad? Joyce rebuts.

Watch video for a cross section of personal experiences and reaction.
