All over the world, it is a crime to use someone else's identity.

However, in Nigeria, it appears this act is fast becoming the norm.

On this edition of the Sunny Side with Joyce Onyemuwa, the preference for priority lists when getting government documents was central; however, the rise in fake identities soon took centre stage.

A caller explained how his close friends got into the Nigerian Police Force with false identities.

"Two of my friends joined the Nigerian Police with different names of people who have already died," he said.

"They didn't go to school, had nothing to lose so they decided to join.

"If it happens that they commit a crime and run away, where are they going to find them?"

Apparently, this fraud doesn't just end with the Police Force.
