I Beg To Differ: More Quarterfinalists Emerge

15-year-old Musa Okhuoya Nicholas of Fureh College School, Ketu and 16-year-old Oluchi Akwarandu of The Apostolic Church Grammar have each secured a quarterfinal spot at the ongoing 'I Beg To Differ' debate tournament.

In the first debate, Nicholas defeated 14-year-old Princess Onwurah of Lagos State Model Senior College, Meiran.

They both debated the topic: 'Federal Government Should Concession Highways To Private Operators.' 

Nicholas argued that private operators are better at maintaining highways and infrastructure than the federal government. 

His opponent, Princess said private operators are only interested in profit-making and would do anything to achieve that. 

To this end, stated that concessioning highways to private operators is indeed a bad idea.

The second debate featured 14-year-old Emmanuel Abayomi Ogunleye of Joen College and 16-year-old Oluchi Akwarandu of The Apostolic Church Grammar school debating: 'Countries Should Limit The Number of Children a Couple Can Have.'

Following an intense round of debate, Oluchi Akwarandu was declared the winner.

Musa Nicholas and Oluchi Akwarandu join Fabian Chigbundu, Praise Onuchi, Stephanie Ehi, Timothy Chukwuebuka, Deborah Ajike, and Emmanuel Afolarin Busari at the quarterfinals of the tournament starting Monday, August 22.
