The fourth edition of 'I Beg to Differ' Student Debate has begun with two contestants battling for a spot in the Round of 16 and a chance to win N1 million.

15-year-old Olaniyan Noah Olaoluwa from Vetland Senior Grammar School went head-to-head with 15-year-old Ameh Stephanie Ehi of International School, University of Lagos in the day's playoff debate.

The topic of contention for today's debate was, 'Is The Proposed Nationwide Okada Ban A Good Idea?'

Stephanie, who supported the motion, claims that passengers of Okada are highly vulnerable to criminal activity as there are no enclosures to protect them.

"Even the helmet that the okada has, they can only protect the head and the eyes. "What happens to the other parts of the body, such as the chest that houses the heart?" she asked.

Noah on the other hand argued that the okada plays an essential part of the nation's transport system that isn't adequate for Nigerians.

He added that "okada has proven to be the most easily accessible means of transportation which a fiery of the Nigerian populace rely on."

Following a careful assessment of the arguments of the two contestants, the judges chose Ameh Stephanie Ehi as the winner.

She advances to the knockout stage of the tournament which begins on Monday.
