President Bola Tinubu will preside over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Monday morning.
On Sunday, the minister of finance, Wale Edun, announced that the 2024 budget and the proposed $1.5 billion loan request from the World Bank would top the meeting's agenda. Nigeria is seeking the loan to support the nation's budget.
Monday’s FEC meeting is the second since Tinubu’s inauguration as Nigeria’s president on May 29. The first took place on 28 August.
FEC meetings have traditionally taken place weekly. The president usually chairs it and has the vice president and all cabinet members in attendance. The cabinet takes important decisions, like contract approvals, at the meetings.
