Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi as the new Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University.
A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, on Thursday, said the appointment takes immediate effect for a five-year single non-renewable tenure.
It is said to have followed a rigorous selection process overseen by the university’s governing council.
At least 15 professors had eyed the seat as the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Nlerum Okogbule, bowed out.
