Renowned Nigerian artiste, High Chief Dr. Muma Gee has raised serious concerns about her safety after alleging police brutality during a routine family drop-off in Port Harcourt.

Speaking to our correspondent, Dr. Muma Gee recounted how officers from the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) of the Nigerian Police violently targeted her vehicle at Rumuokoro.

According to Dr. Muma Gee, the incident occurred as she was about to park her car to drop off relatives returning with her from her Odiabidi Village in Ahoada East, following her brother’s funeral. "Out of nowhere, police officers rushed my vehicle. They jumped down from their van and began hitting my car with their guns, forcing me to open the door," she said. She added that two officers even leaped into the car and aggressively interfered while others cocked their guns, ready to fire at any sign of movement. As a result, her vehicle sustained significant damage.

Dr. Muma Gee expressed deep distress over the ordeal, describing it as a blatant violation of her basic human rights and a disturbing display of police indiscipline. "I am calling on the Inspector-General of Police and other relevant authorities to address this level of misconduct. Such acts of aggression and extortion by police officers put the lives and properties of our citizens at grave risk," she stated.
