National Grid Collapses Again, Second Time in Three Days

The national grid has suffered another leading to blackouts in several parts of the country. 

This collapse, the second time in three days, happened at about 11:30 am on Thursday.

The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) confirming the collapse via its X handle said

“Please be informed that we experienced a system outage today 07 November 2024 at 11:29Hrs affecting supply within our network,” the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) serving parts of Lagos wrote on X.

“Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders.
Kindly bear with us.”

This year alone, the national grid has collapsed ten times leading to widespread blackouts across the country.

Previous collapses happened on February 4, March 28, April 15, July 6, August 5, and three times in October (14th, 15th, and 19th) and November 5th.
