The lawmaker representing Nasarawa Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly has promised to present a motion for the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Yarawa road.
Engr. Yusuf Bello Aliyu's constituents have endured the bad road for years. It is the only road connecting them to the Kano metropolis, and its bad state has been challenging for farmers who struggle to transport their goods to the city, traders, and sick residents attempting to reach the nearest health centre.
Good news came the way of the communities when Arewa Radio, Cool FM, and Wazobia FM aired their weekly community report, highlighting the plight of Yarawa residents.
The program featured the voices of farmers, concerned residents, drivers, and community elders, all lamenting the hardship caused by the bad state of the neglected road.
After the story was aired, the constituents presented their concerns to their lawmaker, Engr. Yusuf Bello Aliyu. The lawmaker promised to raise the matter at the next sitting of the Kano State House of Assembly.
"I have heard your cries, and I have seen the suffering this road has caused," Engr. Aliyu told his constituents.
"Unfortunately, our communities remain cut off due to neglect.
"This is our voice, and it has gone beyond Yarawa. I promise you today, at the next council sitting, I will present a motion demanding immediate rehabilitation of the road."
Engr. Yusuf disclosed that he had reached out to the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure for an urgent intervention on the road, assuring his constituents that urgent intervention would be taken.
