The Middle-Belt Youth Forum is planning a demonstration in Abuja on Wednesday against rising abductions and insecurity in the region.

The president of the forum, Brent Kane, said the protesters would march peacefully to the Attorney-General of the Federation’s office to demand the declaration of the kidnappers and bandits as terrorists.

The rally is coming amid an abduction epidemic that has gripped Abuja and surrounding states.

Last week Thursday, bandits kidnapped 19 people from the Sagwari Estate Layout in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

They killed four of them and demanded ransom for the rest. As of the time of this report, the ransom demanded is N700 million.

On Tuesday, Senator Shehu Sani disclosed that a former principal who volunteered to deliver the ransom demanded by another group of kidnappers in Kaduna State was held by the abductors when he went to hand over the money.
