Public Affairs analyst, Jimi Disu believes the decision of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to opt for the consensus candidate option ahead of 2023, will further divide the party.
The APC on Tuesday reached this decision, amongst others, after a meeting between President Buhari and the 19 APC governors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Disu explains to Morning Crossfire host, Sheriff Quadry, that this decision should not come as a surprise because if President Buhari has a successor in mind, consensus candidacy is the only way he gets his wishes.
The duo analysed the politricks involved and how a seeming power tussle between the President and presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Tinubu, might mean for the party. Watch part of the conversation below or watch full show here>>>
