The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its fighter jets destroyed the armories and hideouts of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Anambra and Imo states on Tuesday.

In a statement released Wednesday, the NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said the air strikes dislodged the terrorist enclaves in Mother Valley, Orsumughu in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, and Aku Ihube in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.

The air offensive, a part of Operation Udo Ka II, was executed following an intelligence report that the IPOBfighters had concluded plans to unleash mayhem on residents in the two states and other states in the Southeast region of Nigeria.

Air Commodore Gabkwet also noted that the Air Force destroyed an IPOB fighters’ meeting venue in Imo State.
