Nigeria and the United States have signed an agreement for the repatriation of $23 million looted by former Head of State Sani Abacha.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) signed the agreement on behalf of Nigeria on Tuesday, while the US Ambassador, Mary Beth Leonard, signed for her country.
Mr. Malami said the asset recovery was aided by the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom.
The money will be used for infrastructural development, he added.
