The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has announced Akin Osuntokun as the Director General of his campaign council.
Osuntokun replaces Doyin Okupe who resigned last Tuesday after a Federal High Court convicted him of money laundering.
The national chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, announced Osuntokun’s appointment after a meeting that had Obi, members of the party’s National Working Committee, and political candidates of the party in attendance.
Osuntokun was a political adviser to former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, and was the director of the presidential campaign of the People’s Democratic Party in 2011.
He was also a managing director of the News Agency of Nigeria.
