Callers on Morning Crossfire have reacted to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo's declaration of his candidacy for the presidency.

In a video published on his social media handles on Monday, Professor Osinbajo said having served under "a man of integrity, President Muhammadu Buhari” he knows “Nigerians’ hopes, aspirations, and fears."

Some callers who spoke to Sheriff Quadry on Morning Crossfire welcomed the vice president's comments.

One of the callers, Enny, expressed her delight, highlighting the impact he made in his short stint as acting President.

Another caller, Kelvin, also stated his satisfaction, saying Osinbajo is the type of person we need to take Nigeria to the next level.

Nevertheless, not everybody was pleased with the vice president’s words.

Joy argued that Osinbajo cannot absolve himself of President Muhammadu Buhari's failures.

She blasted Nigeria’s number two citizen for saying he was going to complete what the current administration started, even though he heads the economic team.

Vice President Osinbajo joins former Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu; Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi, Imo State former governor, Senator Rochas Okorcha; and Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello on the list of APC presidential aspirants.
