The Kano State gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Abba Kabir Yusuf has vowed to revive moribund textile industries and build more state universities if elected in 2023.
Yusuf, the son-in-law of the NNPP’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said this while presenting his 70-page blueprint at the inauguration of the party's presidential/gubernatorial campaign council in Kano on Thursday.
Yusuf assured Kano residents that he will build on the established blueprint of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
He accused the present state administration of allocating projects initiated by former governor, Kwankwaso to cronies, aides, and family members.
He also pledged to eliminate the office of the first lady and the direct influence of family members in government affairs which he says has hampered development in the pyramid state.
