President Muhammadu Buhari has urged residents of Adamawa State to vote massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

He said this at the party’s presidential campaign rally in Yola on Monday, urging them to also vote for the state governorship candidate of the party, Aishatu Binani in the general election.

“I am here today soliciting your votes for our candidates on the platform of APC,” he told the crowd at Mahmud Ribadu Square.

“Bola Tinubu will work acidulously for the nation and you should also vote for Binani as the first female governor of Adamawa.

“You people of Adamawa you will make history by voting the first female governor and we are proud of her.

The president urged the crowd to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the collection deadline of 22 January.

Monday’s rally was the first time President Buhari was campaigning for Tinubu, his party’s presidential candidate.

The ruling All Progressives Congress announced last week that the president will join the candidate on the campaign trail in 10 of Nigeria's 36 states.

The presidential election will take place on 25 February and the governorship poll on March 11, across Nigeria.
