Two Dead, Two Others Hospitalized Following Canadian Embassy Fire

Two people have been confirmed dead from injuries sustained in an inferno at the Canadian Embassy in Abuja.

The FCT Emergency Management Agency said the fire started around 11 a.m. on Monday when a diesel tank exploded in the Embassy’s generator house.

Two other people who suffered “severe burns” are receiving treatment at the National Hospital Trauma Centre in Abuja.

The dead and injured are part of a five-person team from a Nigerian electrical and mechanical services company.

The fire was contained around 12.30 p.m., according to the FCT Emergency Management Agency spokesperson, Nkechi Isa.
