Tinubu Departs for Europe 18 Days to Inauguration

President-elect Bola Tinubu has left the country to Europe, as confirmed by Tunde Rahman, Tinubu's media aide. 

Rahman, in a statement issued on Wednesday, revealed that the incoming president left Abuja on Wednesday afternoon in the company of his key aides. 
 
"The purpose of this trip is to alleviate unnecessary pressures and distractions on the President-Elect prior to the upcoming inauguration on May 29." 
 
"During this visit, he intends to refine the transition plans, programs, and policy options alongside his key aides, free from unwarranted pressures and distractions." 
 
While on this journey, the President-elect will actively engage with investors and other significant allies, aiming to promote investment opportunities within the country and foster a business-friendly environment through favorable policies and regulations. 
 
"Arrangements have already been made for productive discussions with various actors from Europe's business community, spanning across sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, technology, and energy." 
 
Tinubu aspires to convincingly convey Nigeria's preparedness for business under his leadership, focusing on mutually beneficial partnerships that prioritize job creation and skills development. 
 
"The President-elect is determined to hit the ground running, and this visit exemplifies his unwavering commitment. He has already initiated discussions with influential figures in key economic and security domains." 
 
The statement further noted that Tinubu is expected to return promptly, ensuring ample time for preparations leading up to his official inauguration as the country's 16th President on May 29, 2023.
