It was a busy weekend in Nigeria. We had a threat, a directive, an ultimatum, and even the reprimand of police officers.

The threat was directed at the Lagos State government by the Trade Union Congress. The TUC said it would halt the state’s economy over the government’s ban on the operations of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).

President Bola Tinubu directed security agencies to rescue students abducted from the Federal University in Gusau, Zamfara State on Friday, and the police said it deranked an officer and reprimanded another for assaulting a civilian.
