The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers state has screened six senatorial aspirants, 26 House of Representatives aspirants, and 64 State House of Assembly aspirants ahead of its forthcoming primaries.
This brings the number of aspiring lawmakers screened by the party to 96.
The PDP chairman in Rivers State, Desmond Akawor assured the aspirants of equal and fair treatment.
The chairman of the five-man screening committee, Francis Bulem who led his team from Abuja, also promised to uphold internal democracy throughout their assignment in the State.
The PDP governorship aspirants from Rivers and other South-South states will be screened by another committee led by Bayelsa State governor, Douye Diri at the Zonal secretariat of the party in Port Harcourt.
