Nigeria Info FM's “Tournament of Champions” Kicks Off

Nigeria Info fm’s “I beg to differ” debate National finals tagged the “Tournament of Champions” is set to commence. 

The debate which is aimed at lending a voice to young persons in Nigeria would run from the 12th-29th of August 2024. 

Speaking during a press briefing in Lagos, the General Manager, CoolWazobiaInfo FM, Femi Obong-Daniels says young champions from various zones would converge in Lagos to compete at the national finals of the debate. 

“So for this national finals, we'll be bringing 16 of the best debaters from across the country

“I beg to differ students' debate has been one of our strongest tools for listening to young people.

“It targets young people of secondary school age, between the ages of 13 and 17”.

The GM further explained that the debate will be live across all Nigeria Info fm stations across the country.

” For this national final, it will be live on Nigeria info in Lagos, it will be live on Nigeria info in Port-harcourt, it will be live on Nigeria info in Abuja, it will also be live on kids' FM, which is the baby of the Coolwazobiainfo family”


The GM assured listeners that as always, the judges would be independent and unbiased in their judgement. 

“We're expecting to have even a language judge for this national final, and we'll have four judges, three main judges. 

“The judges have their independence to determine who the best debaters are, based on all the criteria that have been set. 

“And those criteria are the usual debate criteria- poise, articulation, main points made to stand out and all of that, the things that make the debates what they are”.
