Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, the Medical Director of the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling his wife's niece.

Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja, presiding over the case, delivered the verdict after finding Dr. Olaleye guilty of the crimes of defilement and sexual penetration involving a 15-year-old girl.

The judge emphasized that the evidence provided by the victim and the medical examination performed were consistent.

Justice Oshodi concluded that the prosecution had convincingly proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt, and the evidence presented in court supported the victim's account.

Additionally, the judge highlighted that Dr. Olaleye's confessional statement and his WhatsApp and email exchanges with his wife served as compelling evidence against him.

The judge further pointed out that Dr. Olaleye's signed statement, along with his lawyer, Olalekan Buruji, bearing his NBA seal at Anthony Police Station, provided clear indication of his involvement in the crimes of rape and coercing the victim into sexual acts.

Dr. Olaleye had been arraigned on two counts related to defilement and sexual assault by penetration of his wife's niece, with charges preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.

The judge held that the prosecution was able to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt and that all the evidence before the court corroborated that of the victim.

Olaleye was arraigned on two counts which bordered on defilement and sexual assault by penetration of his wife’s niece, preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.
