Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan has praised his former principal, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, 12 years after his death
President Jonathan described him as a ‘’selfless leader and a peacemaker who governed with sincerity and passion for the people.’’
Jonathan paid tribute to his late boss in a series of tweets on his official Twitter handle.
He said Yar’adua’s ‘’strides in public life” continue to testify for him even though he is no longer here.
He also added that the deceased was a ‘’servant leader whose type is hard to find.’’
‘’Like a good athlete, he ran with passion, kept the faith and finished the race.
‘’He was a soldier of truth, committed to justice, equity and other democratic virtues,’’ President Jonathan wrote.
He also noted that Yar’adua will be remembered for the ‘’good works’’ that he did for the nation.
The late President Yar’adua died on the 5th of May, 2010. He was Nigeria’s president from 2007 until his death.
