Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has approved N1 billion for emergency relief measures to support flood victims in Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Areas of the state.x
A Government House statement said the governor also set up a task force to coordinate the distribution of relief materials to affected communities.
Governor Wike said the money is to enable vulnerable families to cope with the impact of the devastating flood.
The flood waters inundated homes and farmlands, displacing scores of families.
