The Director of the Center for China Studies, Charles Onunaiju (PhD)  is advocating for an "immediate decisive ceasefire to stop the killing of innocent Palestinians."

Speaking on "Borderlines," a global news and politics show on Nigeria Info FM, Onunaiju berated the indecisiveness of the international community and the seeming lack of unity of the Arab world.

"Europe and some Arab countries are complacent in the way Israel is committing genocide in Gaza," he said.

"Up till today, the Arab League is still passing resolutions of condemnation. Israel is not a normal state that is perturbed by condemnation."

Onunaiju further called on the Arab states to "decisively intervene and stop the carnage and murder in Gaza."

Why Israel is Fighting

Charles Onunaiju (PhD) insists that "Israel is not fighting because 1400 Israelis were killed."

According to him, it is because "Hamas has once and for all destroyed its myth of invisibility, its myth of military impregnability."

He added that Hamas dispelled the Israeli myth of having the most sophisticated intelligence in the world, and the most defensively capable military in the world.

US Support for Israel

On his part, the co-founder & Executive Director of Friends of Congo, Maurice Carney noted that the United States enables Israel's assault on Gaza.

"Israel won't be able to do what it's doing without the United States," he said.

"It is the largest country that has received funding in the world since World War Two from the United States."

Humanity

Palestinian human rights activist and humanitarian, Dr. Basma Taysir El Doukh stated that humanity must always supersede religion.

According to her, "keeping quiet is normalizing killing dehumanization and feeling afraid to speak up is very dangerous."

She called on the international community to first consider Palestinians as humans and allow them to live in dignity.
