The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd.), made it known on behalf of the Federal Government, in a statement on Wednesday by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Abubakar Magaji.

He admonished all Muslim faithful and Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, progress and unity of the nation.

Dambazau further urged all Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration towards building the nation.

Eid-El-Maulud is celebrated annually by Muslims on the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal as the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
