The draws for the playoff spots for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League was held today in Nyon, Switzerland. The draws comprised teams that didn’t make it to the top eight, but made the top 16 in the new format and qualified them for a playoff spot.
The draws pitched the following teams against each other.
- Club Brugge vs Atalanta
- Sporting CP vs Dortmund
- Manchester City vs Real Madrid
- Celtic vs Bayern München
- Juventus vs PSV Eindhoven
- Feyenoord vs AC Milan
- Brest vs Paris Saint-Germain
- Monaco vs Benfica
Winners from each playoff game will join the already qualified eight for another draw to determine the pairings for the next round of matches.
Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille, Aston Villa are through to the next round.
UEFA is using a new format for the 2024/25 season, ditching the old grouping method which pitched teams against each other after the group stages for a second round spot.
The draws have also revealed the path from the next round of matches all through to the final, including dates for each round as shown.
Knockout phase play-offs: 11/12 & 18/19 February 2025
Round of 16: 4/5 & 11/12 March 2025
Quarter-finals: 8/9 & 15/16 April 2025
Semi-finals: 29/30 April & 6/7 May 2025
Final: 31 May 2025.
