Nigeria Info’s Sandra Ezekwesili has been named as one of the Women in Journalism Africa (WiJAfrica) 2021 "Most Powerful Women in Journalism" in Nigeria.
The host of Hard Facts was among the top 25 outstanding women journalists named by WiJAfrica for “the impact of her work on national affairs in the past year; her influence in the media industry in the past year; her efforts in holding leaders to account in the past year and her contribution to advancing social and political consciousness among Nigerian youth in the past year.”
The list also includes a former Nigeria Info OAP and News Central TV's Head of Programs, Tolulope Adeleru; Punch Online/New Media Editor, Adesola Ayo-Adenrele; Editor, Thisday Style Online, Konye Nwobogor and Editor, Vanguard Allure, Jemi Ekunkunbor.
According to WiJAfrica, those nominated “are not cultural icons or media sensations, but the power and influence they wield can engender social change, give a voice to the oppressed, and do a world of good.”
Over the last year, Ezekwesili has dealt with topical issues including the END SARS protest last year; Covid-19 pandemic; Twitter Suspension.
She has also been an advocate for women’s rights with her segment Glass Ceiling as well as a proponent for issues bedevilling business on her Balogun and Broad segment.
