Why Has Tinubu Not Answered Asset Forfeiture Questions Directly?

The opposition People's Democratic Party has accused Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress of dodging debates to avoid answering questions about his 1990s court judgment.

A United States District Court from the Northern District in Illinois issued a forfeiture order on money in bank accounts belonging to Tinubu.

The court found that the monies in the accounts were the proceeds of drug dealing and money laundering.

They were linked to a drug operation run by one Adegboyega Muneez Akande.

Tinubu himself has said he won’t respond to the matter which he called "a rumour."

Some callers on Nigeria Info's Hard Facts, however, say the APC presidential candidate owes Nigerians whose votes he is seeking, some explanation regarding the court judgement.

According to one of them, "there are too many questions to answer and this is adding more stain to his person."

Some other callers opine that Tinubu does not have to respond to the judgement/documents because "it is a document that was laid to rest a long time ago."
