The Rivers State Microfinance Agency, RIMA, is urging businesses and artisans to apply for a four-billion-naira loan provided by the state government in partnership with the Bank of Industry, BOI, aimed at boosting economic activities across the state.

Speaking during an interview on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, the MD/CEO of RIMA, Jonathan Tobin, said the loan fulfils Governor Siminialayi Fubara’s commitment to improving the lives of Rivers people and fostering wealth creation.

According to him, the loan is ready for disbursement and is accessible to all legal businesses except start-ups. He adds that the loan is not limited to Rivers indigenes alone.

Mr. Tobin also explained that RIMA has deployed officers representing various local governments to identify and assess eligible applicants. He assured that the application process is straightforward, as is the interest rate and that eligible business owners can apply at the agency's office or via its website, www.rima.com.

He also addressed concerns about the potential politicization of the process by officers, reassuring that eligible individuals will not be deprived of benefits.
