It’s been two weeks since South Africa reported the omicron Covid variant to the World Health Organization and now it’s spreading around the globe.

It’s been two weeks since South Africa reported the omicron Covid variant to the World Health Organization and now it’s spreading around the globe.

Since then, Nigeria has reported six cases and has been added to a United Kingdom travel ban list alongside ten other countries.

On Tuesday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced that Lagosians must now present their COVID-19 vaccination cards to attend social gatherings during the December 2021 festive period.

This is part of new restrictive measures put in place in response to the outbreak of the Omicron COVID-19 variant.

Now, considering that this variant is reportedly spreading rapidly but so far causing milder Covid symptoms; is the entire world overreacting? Or are the reactions proper?
