A statement made by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu claiming Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, is the brain behind the development master plan implemented by successive Lagos administrations in the last two decades, has continued to generate reactions.

On Morning Crossfire with Sheriff Quadry, two callers argued for and against Sanwo-Olu's statement.

The first caller, Fisayo, credits the Former Governor of Lagos State, Lateef Jakande, with building Lagos from nothing, but insists that the modernization of Lagos started with Tinubu.

"I went to a Jakande school, it was a school without doors and windows, now we see modern schools that children are going and they’re free."

"Tinubu started free WAEC, free JAMB, he opened up Lekki. There was a time Lekki stopped at Maroko, now, we have Elegushi, Oniru, up to Epe."

He adds that it is wrong to rubbish Tinubu's achievement in Lagos because of politics is so wrong.

"He did his best, he modernized the hospitals. The general hospitals are much better now," Fisayo concludes.

The second caller, however, disagrees with the governor and first caller that the APC presidential candidate modernized Lagos.

According to her, her early memories of Lagos was of a serene society.

“I remember Lagos when people didn’t even have the right to sleep under bridges, run after lorries.”

She questioned Tinubu's contribution to Lagos and gave credit to Jakande for opening up many places by putting up structures that made Lagos special.

All that is now history, according to her.
