There has been a wide range of reactions following the PDP's Sen. Ademola Adeleke's victory over incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the APC in the Osun State governorship election.

Some persons are suggesting that the ruling party's defeat is a preview of what is coming in the 2023 presidential election; but is this the case? Would Bola Tinubu and the APC be defeated in 2023?

The News Manager at Nigeria Info,  Ufuoma Egbamuno does share in the sentiment.

Mr. Egbamuno explained that many voters who cast their ballots for the PDP on Saturday would turn around in 2023 and vote for Asiwaju Tinubu.

He reasoned that there are a lot more variables at the presidential level and that many Nigerians, including those in Osun State, will vote for a candidate of their tribe.

“Next year’s election will be determined by a lot of ethnic and tribal sentiments, a referendum on the party in power, and the individual involved," he said on Morning Crossfire with Sheriff Quadri.
