The second and final playoff discourse of the ‘I Beg To Differ’ debate tournament saw 13-year-old Chigbundu Fabian of Cayley College secure a spot at the knockout stage after defeating 12-year-old Akinfende Oluwademiladeife of New Estate Baptist Secondary School.

The intense debate was centered on the topic, "Senior Secondary Specialisation Between Arts & Science Is A Net Positive."

Fabian, who spoke in support of specialisation in senior secondary schools argued that it makes students well grounded in their selected field of study as opposed to having a surface knowledge of every field.

He insisted that "a jack of all trades is a master of none."

In her argument, Oluwademiladeife said specialisation kills the multitasking capabilities that are needed by employers.

She added that its presence creates room for individuals to have general foundational knowledge in both the arts and sciences that will make them "indispensable to their employers."

Fabian emerged as the winner of the playoff debate and progresses to the knockout stage of the tournament.
