I Beg To Differ: 13-year-old Fabian Qualifies for the Finals

13-year-old Fabian Chigbundu of Cayley College has made it to the final of the ongoing 'I Beg To Differ' student debate tournament on Nigeria Info.

 Fabian faced off against 13-year-old Emmanuel Busari of Ifako International Secondary School f.or a place in the semifinals.

Both contestants debated the topic: 'Should Govt Increase Taxation to Pay for Better Services?'

Fabian in support of the motion, stated that the government should increase taxes to enable it meet the infrastructure and developmental needs of the country.

According to him, increased taxation on the rich helps reduce the financial gap in society.

His opponent on the other hand insists that increasing taxes will directly increase the financial burden of the people.

He added that increased taxation will reduce the purchasing power of the people.

After much consideration by the panel of judges, 13-year-old Fabian Chigbundu was picked as the winner.

As a result, he becomes the first finalist of the tournament.
