FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has told FCT residents to disregard rumour mongers peddling fake news that he collapsed and was eventually flown to France for treatment last week.

The minister who dispelled the rumor after inspecting ongoing projects across the territory on Wednesday said the purported rumors was the handiwork of politicians who are not happy with his achievements and victory.

Wike who explained that he was busy throughout last inspecting projects and participating in other official engagements at the Presidential Villa last week, said he was surprised to see people believing such a rumour.

While advising Nigerians to stop wishing people evil, he said he would be alive to sign the condolences of those wishing him death.

"I don't want to give credence to people who are interested in carrying rumors. First of all, I am a human being, it's not a ghost that will collapse, it's a human being that will collapse if there is any problem with their health. Unfortunately, I didn't collapse, I didn't show any sign that I had any health issues.

"Let me tell you what happened. You see that the former head of service of Rivers state government came out to let the public know what was going on; they had the plan to bomb the Rivers state house of assembly complex, and they had the plan to attack national assets. To divert attention from people not focusing on that, they had to bring on the rumor that I had been flown abroad. There is never a time I collapsed, there's never a time anybody took me to the hospital.

"But you see me every day, the day Mr. President broke Iftar during his birthday, I was there. The next day I led Abuja residents to pay Sallah homage. I see all these stories about me, it's all politics.

"People should not wish their fellow human beings such things to happen. We know that we will die one day, and nobody will remain in this world forever but it's only God who will say the day you'll die, not any human being to says you'll die today or tomorrow. But don't bother yourself, you can see that am very healthier than most of them. I'll write their condolence letter, I can assure you that," he explained.
