The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said he chose Bishop Isaac Idahosa as his running mate because of his impeccable integrity.
This is contained in a statement by Senator Kwankwaso’s media aide, Muyiwa Fatosa, on Friday.
Senator Kwankwaso said that his choice of Bishop Idahosa was made after careful considerations and the meticulous screening of more than 20 prospective candidates.
“Idahosa was also selected because of his outstanding record, impeccable integrity, broad understanding of the Nigerian state and its contemporary challenges.”
The presidential candidate also pointed to Bishop Idahosa’s undiluted commitment to improving the conditions of Nigerians and his sincere belief that “a new and better Nigeria is possible.”
“A self-made achiever and a credible Nigerian, Bishop Idahosa is also selected because he represents the definition of a true role model for the Nigerian Youth,” Senator Kwankwaso pointed out.
He expressed happiness that the patriotic Nigerian man of God would work with him in the journey to save the country.
The choice of Bishop Idahosa as Senator Kwankwaso’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election was announced on Thursday.
The cleric is the presiding Bishop and Senior Pastor of the God First Ministry, which he leads from Ajah, Lagos.
The 57-year-old is from Edo Stats and is a trained automobile engineer from Kaduna State Polytechnic.
He also has Masters’ and Doctorate degrees in Theology and is married with two children.
Bishop Idahosa will be officially unveiled on Monday, 18 July at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
